The Internet is a computer network established by the United States Department of Defense in 1969, through a project ARPA called ARPANET (Advanced Research Project Agency Network), where they demonstrated how the hardware and software UNIX-based computers we can make communication within the infinite through phone lines. ARPANET project designing their networks, reliability, how much information can be moved, and eventually all of the standards they set into the embryo development of new protocols now known as TCP / IP (Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol).

The initial purpose was the construction of the project for military purposes.

At that time the United States Department of Defense (U.S. Department of Defense) create a computer network system that is spread by linking computers in areas vital to overcome the problem occurs when a nuclear attack and to avoid the occurrence of centralized information, which in the event of war can be easily destroyed.

At first ARPANET link is only just 4 sites are:

1. Stanford Research Institute

2. University of California

3. Santa Barbara

4. University of Utah, Where they form an integrated network in 1969, and in general the ARPANET was introduced in October 1972.

Not long after the project is growing rapidly in all regions, and all the universities in these countries want to join, thus making it difficult to arrange the ARPANET.

Therefore ARPANET split in two, namely "MILNET" for military purposes and the "ARPANET" new smaller for non-military purposes such as, universities. Combined both networks eventually known as the DARPA Internet, which then reduces to the Internet.

Many complaints about playing the slow videos on YouTube have made them try to overcome the issue through the launch of their pilot program called Feather.

Claimed more ‘lightweight’, this program is intended for places that do not have excellent internet connection. YouTube realized that there are still many countries that have limited bandwidth and this can slow the download process.

‘One of our priorities is to ensure that existing video can be loaded and played quickly. In the era of instant satisfaction, even a few seconds of loading time can feel like forever, "said Chris Zacharias, YouTube engineer, told the AFP detikINET, Friday (4/12/2009).

YouTube Feather is made by a company owned by Google itself, namely TestTube. The ability to play video faster can be realized through the elimination of some features and trimming the amount of data downloaded by the browser.

Because of ‘feather’ is still available in beta, then the system will still be repaired. And if YouTube users still feel there has been no change when they try out this program, do not be surprised because Feather was not able to be applied to all of the existing videos.

A woman in Canada, she could no longer enjoy the benefits of sick leave because she display photos on Facebook, which showed she was having fun.

The story begins when Nathalie Blanchard last year got a leave of absence from his office, IBM Corp.. in the town of Bromont, Quebec. She admitted that time was suffering from depression, so ask leave of absence.

Not only holiday to come by, as an employee of IBM Blanchard also entitled to allowances on leave from the insurance company Manulife after receiving report that she was depressed, so she should receive the benefit. But, television stations reported the Canadian Broadcasting Corp.. (CBC), Saturday, November 21, 2009, granting benefit to Blanchard leave some time ago has been discontinued. Blanchard told that she have been called by Manulife, the judge that he had actually been healthy and eligible to come to work.

According to insurance agents who deal with Manulife Blanchard , they have seen a number of photos sent Blanchard to Facebook. The pictures of her showing Blanchard was having fun in a bar and when she celebrated birthday and while she enjoyed the summer holidays. So, according to Manulife, Blanchard was no longer depressed.

Not received with that assessment, Blanchard had hired a lawyer to ask for Manulife to granting sick leave benefits again resumed.

To the CBC, she said that based on doctor’s advice, she should try to have fun. That’s why she seemed to enjoy being together with friends at a bar and a holiday where there is sun light. It is a therapy to overcome depression…..

when contacted the media, Manulife did not comment on the case of Blanchard. However, they claim will not refuse or cancel a claim solely

based on information published in the social pages like Facebook.

At that time, he and his team had "given birth" what is later called the Internet.

He and his colleagues from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) is preparing anniversary of the 40 Internet, Thursday (29/10).

"The Internet has become a teenager now. It has learned something, but still must continue to learn, "he said in San Francisco, Saturday (24/10).

On October 29, 1969, Kleinrock led a team which can make a computer "talk" with others in the research section.

Kleinrock driven by the belief that computers are designed to be able to talk each other to produce a simple network, such as

telephone usage.

Key in the exchange of data between one computer and another computer is to solve the digital code and make it as a package separately.

He has outlined his vision in his master’s dissertation, and even publish in a book.

"However, no one cares, especially ATT," Kleinrock said.

ATT is the largest company in the U.S. telephone service providers, both local and long distance.

"I have been doing presentations, but they say that the idea will not be realized. In fact, if it can happen, they don’t want to do anything, "he said.

But, ATT provides a path that connects the computer to the ARPANET. This is a project supported by the U.S. military.

initially, experiments failed to connect ARPANET.

Kleinrock team tried to send data between computers on the ARPANET and successful.

A total of two computers at two other universities are also connected at the end of 1969.

Firefox has been so popular nowadays, I think you all know about it or maybe now you are using Firefox when browsing my blog. I think everyone like using Firefox because it is so fast and light when you have to run any website. Actually, you can still optimize your Firefox, and just follow the steps below:

Click [Start] > [All Programs] > [Mozilla Firefox] > [Mozilla Firefox]

After browser window open, type on the address bar : about:config then [enter]

After that, find “Preference name” called “network.http.pipelining” and change the value to “true”.

Move to “network.http.proxy.pipelining” and fill out the value with “true”.

At “network.http.max-connections-per-server”, fill out the value with “32”.

For preference “network.http.max-connections”, change the value with “60”.

Make a change to the preference “network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy” by filling out the value with “16”.

Change the “network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server” to “8”.

The last, change the preference “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” with “30”.

Right click your mouse on the empty area in your browser and then choose [New] > [Integer]. Give the name “layout.initialpaint.delay” on the “preference name", and fill out the value with “0”. Create one preference again by right clicking and choose the menu [New] > [Boolean]. Fill out the name with “browser.tabs.showSingleWindowModePrefs” and set the value with “true”.

That’s all, and I will post any other tips here. Thanks to PCplus.

Are you a member of some social networking websites such as Facebook, Friendster, FriendPlay, and many more? I am sure that if you join many social networking, it will make you harder and harder to remember all those logins, passwords, and most importantly to remember which of your friends what network.

Now, you can consolidate all your social networking accounts into one account so you can control and manage your social networking such as replying messages, reading new information, and much more. You can join Social Aggregator. It can be a website or application on your PC.

However, many of the social aggregator will ask your profile info completely including your passwords. It means that you give them your private data and they will freely manage it. I think it is not too safe (even not safe) to you.

Now I would like to inform you that you can use an application/tool to only monitor your activities in social networking, not full management. The aggregator to monitor your social networking is SocialURL (www.socialurl.com). Do you want to try? Just check out!

That is what Dr. Aric Sigman, a psychologist, has claimed

Dr Aric said that the sites like Facebook or Myspace is created to enrich our social life, but in fact, the sites make us apart from the others because we enjoy seeing virtually.

The phenomenon causes the biological effects. When we rarely meet face to face with others, it will change genetic work, disturb immune response, hormone level, artery function, and influence mental condition.

Finally, those conditions can cause some dangerous diseases like cancer, stroke and dementia.

Well readers, I think whatever Dr. Aric has claimed, for me, we shoud be wise in using internet and access the sites such as Facebook and Myspace, and others. Limit you time to access, use when you need it.
